Zoom Host, the original home for all things soup, is taking over the Internet with a $1 billion bid to buy Time Warner Cable and buy Time.
The bid includes the rights to Time Warner’s cable network, which is expected to be bought by the company later this year, according to people familiar with the matter.
The bidding process has been under way since October and will be completed this week, the people said.
Zoom Host’s acquisition of Time Warner cable is the latest in a string of media deals that have boosted the company.
The company last month bought NBCUniversal for $3.7 billion.
Zoo host Stephen Colbert, who hosts a new show, Colbert Report, in partnership with Comedy Central, last year won the Emmy for Outstanding Host in a Comedy Series.
