Toronto, ON — (BUSINESS WIRE)– Toronto Marlie Hockey Club announced today the signing of Ryan Keslers first professional contract.
The Toronto Marlies General Manager and President of Hockey Operations confirmed the signing on Twitter, sharing a video message from the 23-year-old winger who will wear the #16 for the Marlies in the 2018-2019 season.
Kesler will begin the 2018–19 season with the Marlie’s AHL affiliate, the Ontario Hockey League’s Toronto Thunderbirds.
The Thunderbirds will play their first game of the 2018/19 season on March 5 against the Oshawa Generals.
Kersler, the 2014 Memorial Cup MVP, has played in eight career AHL games with the Thunderbirds, recording three goals and three assists.
He was originally drafted by the Thunderbird organization in the fourth round (210th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
